Elon Musk and his ex-girlfriend Grimes have begun exploring the possibility of the billionaire businessman living with all of his kids and their mothers.
The Tesla & X CEO, 53, and Canadian singer-songwriter, 36, recently looked at mansions in the luxe Southern California neighborhood of Bel Air, an insider told People Monday.
The We Appreciate Power vocalist and the SpaceX CEO are parents to four-year-old son X Æ A-12 Musk; three-year-old daughter Exa Dark Sideræl; and son Techno Mechanicus, who they welcomed in 2022.
The Vancouver native, whose full name is Claire Elise Boucher, and Musk are not looking to rekindle their relationship amid the lifestyle change, the source told the outlet. (Grimes and Musk parted ways more than three years ago, as he told Page Six in September of 2021 that he and Grimes were ‘semi-separated.’)
The Flesh Without Blood artist – who appeared to allude to her ex in a tweet on Saturday – also separately toured a mansion in Upper Bel Air, the outlet reported.

Musk told the outlet following their split three years ago that Grimes would continue to live at a home he owns in California.
‘It’s mostly that my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling overseas, and her work is primarily in LA,’ Musk said. ‘She’s staying with me now and Baby X is in the adjacent room.’
Separate from Grimes, Musk is father to nine other kids with two women, according to People.
Musk and ex-wife Justine Wilson, 52, are parents to six kids, as their first-born child Nevada Alexander tragically died after 10 weeks in 2002 from SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome).
They subsequently welcomed twins Vivian Jenna and Griffin, now 20, in April 2004 and triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian, now 18, in January 2006.
Musk and Neuralink businesswoman Shivon Zilis, 38, are parents to three kids, welcoming twins in November 2021 and a third child this past June.
Grimes and Zilis publicly spoke about their cordial-yet-complicated relationship co-parenting with Musk in September of 2023.
‘I spoke with Shivon at length finally, which was long overdue,’ Grimes said in a tweet. ‘This wasn’t her fault, plz don’t be angry at her! We respect each other a lot and we’re excited to become friends and have the kids grow up together.

‘Women are so often pitted against each other. Speaking with Shivon, it’s very evident she’s an amazing human and we both just want what’s best for our kids.’
Zilis replied, ‘At the end of the day it all ended up for the best! Thank you for taking the time to really connect and understand each other. So glad we had such a wonderful talk, was insanely overdue. You’re a total bada** and I respect you very much as well.’
Musk has also been in high-profile relationships with actresses Talulah Riley, 39, and Amber Heard, 38.
Musk this past May told The Wall Street Journal’s CEO Council that he doesn’t have a firm succession plan in place with an eye toward the future of his empires.
‘I am definitely not of the school of automatically giving my kids some shares of the companies,’ he said, ‘even if they have no interest or inclination or ability to manage the company. I think that’s a mistake.’
Musk has vociferously stated his support for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in recent weeks.
