Nadia Bartel’s Henne store in Sydney has been branded as a ‘flop’ by frustrated shoppers who have criticised the staff for being ‘dismissive’.
The Aussie fashion designer, 39, opened a Henne store in Paddington in June, exactly two years after opening the brand’s first shop in Melbourne in 2022.
However, the new store has had mixed reviews from shoppers, with one taking to TikTok earlier this week to give an insight into her experience at the boutique.
The user, who goes by @claudiaarose15, was less than impressed as she revealed she didn’t even make it inside the store after being told it was a two-hour wait.
Other shoppers agreed with her dismal review as they claimed both boutique locations are often jam-packed with shoppers and accused the staff of being ‘rude’.
Claudia shared a video of the huge queues outside the two-floor boutique at opening time as patient shoppers waited for their turn to be allowed inside.
‘We just waited one hour to try and get into the Henne boutique – blazing sun, no refreshments, no stools, whatever, side note, not a problem,’ she detailed.
‘First of all, the store is like tiny, you look through the window and can see the whole thing.’

Claudia then claimed they waited an hour before an assistant told them it would be another 60 minutes due to changing room queues, leading to her leaving the store.
She shared: ‘”We’re waiting for an hour, we’re second from the front and this woman appears from the f**king door, the sales assistant, and says ”there’s 10 people waiting for the dressing room and will be a one hour wait to get into the store”.
‘We’re going ”a two-hour wait to step into Henne in Sydney, Australia? I’m sorry!” so we jumped ship, we abandoned ship, I’m not staying there for another hour.
‘We’d already been there an hour and then she goes ”another hour”, so that’s my review of the Henne store.
‘I stood on their stairs for literally an hour in the blazing sun and I left!’
Claudia fumed that she wouldn’t return as she branded the store a ‘flop’, while many other users took to the comments to share their similar experiences.
‘I’m sorry but treating customers like this is so not a vibe, what a flop. I won’t be back,’ she captioned the video.
Others criticised their in-store experience with Henne, arguing it shouldn’t have the prestige of a high-end designer boutique.

One wrote: ‘I love Henne but the instore experience is awful. The girls working at the Melbourne store gave mean girl energy and I felt so uncomfortable. It’s also tiny and only 2 change rooms.’
Another fumed: ‘I love henne. But this is truly not worth it. It’s HENNE bffr,’ while a third alleged: ‘The henne girls are soooo mean! It’s honestly so off-putting.’
A fourth commented: ‘I went at opening time today and staff didn’t even open the door when it was opening time. Staff were so rude and dismissive.’
And another added: ‘Eeeew they think they’re Chanel lol, how sad.’
However, other shoppers were quick to jump to the brand’s defence as they shared their positive experiences with the ‘lovely’ staff in the Sydney and Melbourne stores.
One said: ‘I’m confused, it’s been open in Sydney for a while now? Why are there lines lol. I walked straight in when I visited.’
Another wrote: ‘It’s weird I went into the Melb[ourne] one and they were nice to me,’ while a third penned: ‘Same! Not overly busy and absolutely lovely service!’
A fourth shared: ‘Midday Friday you walk in and out in a few minutes.’
‘Surprised on the feedback of the team at henne, they have always been so friendly when I have gone,’ another detailed.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Henne and Nadia’s representatives for comment.
Henne has gone from strength to strength since Nadia launched the brand with her sister Michelle Ring and friend Laura Broque five years ago in 2019.

The website lists its values as a commitment to women’s voices, circularity, mindful consumption, good working conditions and a positive environmental impact.
‘By ensuring each garment is designed to last, we are reducing our impact on the planet for future generations,’ it states.
Henne used to be an online-only store but has since established a presence on the high streets in both Sydney and Melbourne.
‘Pinch me moment! Our first boutique is finally here. It opens this week and seriously feels like a dream,’ Nadia told her followers when she opened her Melbourne store back in 2022.
The new Sydney store boasts changing rooms and large mirrors, as well as a seating area and a blue staircase that leads to another level.
