Common is playing coy about any immediate plans to propose to his girlfriend Jennifer Hudson.
The multi award-winning and multi-talented rapper, 52, went public with his relationship with the Dreamgirls actress, 43, in January, and the pair haven’t shied away from talking about the prospect of tying the knot.
Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com ahead of his show-stopping performance at the publication’s Off The Record Party in New York City on Wednesday, however, Common hinted that they might not be walking down the aisle just yet.
When probed on whether an engagement could soon be on the cards, he laughed before eventually saying, ‘I appreciate the love and support to our relationship and partnership.
‘We’re striving in our happiness.’

The power couple went public with their relationship in January this year
Common and Jennifer initially sparked romance rumors back in 2022 after a decade of friendship.
They eventually confirmed their relationship to the public in January when he appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show and presented the singer with a bouquet of flowers.
It’s fair to say they are completely smitten with each other, with Common proudly admitting on The Breakfast Club that if he were to get married it would be to Jennifer.
Besides gushing about each other in interviews, the couple have also amped up their professional collaborations this year, having guest appeared on each other’s albums.
Jennifer featured on his track A GOD (There Is) off his collaborative album The Auditorium Vol. 1 with Pete Rock, which dropped July 12, and he’s due to appear on her upcoming album.
Shedding light on what it’s been like hitting the studio with his other half, Common told DailyMail.com: ‘For me, it’s like no matter how much I love you, care about you, whatever our relationship is, we’re still there to create some of the best art.
‘So, my vision and my passion for the art it won’t be stumbled by how much I care about you.
‘Jennifer says the difference between me and Common is the artist, because I’m very particular as an artist and I can be passionate.

The multi-talented star also teased his upcoming Christmas track with Jennifer
‘But I believe in any collaboration you want to share a vision, and then y’all can sharpen each other.’
Common will appear on Jennifer’s upcoming Christmas album, The Gift of Love, which is set to be released on October 18.
‘I’m so grateful to be on her Christmas album,’ he gushed. ‘She loves Christmas.’
Teasing what listeners can expect of their song, he said: ‘It really is like an interlude, but it’s as long as the song she’s singing.
‘It’s got a romance to it. It’s a beautiful piece.’
But fans should not be expecting a joint album from Common or Jennifer to come anytime soon – although he admitted that such a project would be ‘funny’.
‘I feel like we’ve been doing stuff when we’ve been inspired, so it’s organic,’ he explained.
‘It’s not like, because we together, we should be doing music together or we should do a movie together. It has to be from the heart and it has to be inspired.’
