Rio Ferdinand shared a rare snap of his eldest son Lorenz on Wednesday, as he jetted off on a family getaway to Portugal.
The former footballer, 45, whisked his wife Kate, 32, and kids, Lorenz, 17, Tate, 15, Tia, 13, Cree, three, and 10 month old Shae, away for a sunny trip in Vilamoura.
And he took to his Instagram to share a snippet of the relaxing holiday, sharing snaps of the family sunbathing by the ocean and enjoying a boat trip.
In one shot, Rio snapped Lorenz laughing with stepmum Kate as they sat on the deck of the boat at sea, and captioned the photos: ‘Lil Family Getaway ❤️✈️’.
Despite their combined 7.5million followers on Instagram, Rio and Kate have refrained from showing their children’s faces, either taking photos from behind or covering them up with emojis.

Kate previously explained the decision to keep the kids’ privacy, telling her followers: ‘As much I would love to show you guys how funny, talented, cute and beautiful they all are.
‘At the moment, we think it’s important, especially given everything they have been through, that they can grow up without the added pressure of social media and everyone’s opinions.
‘We all make mistakes, change and grow and as kids I think it’s important to be able to do that without the world watching.’
She added: ‘Although, saying all of this, when they are a certain age it’s as much as their decision as it is ours. I’m sure you will be seeing them all at some stage.’
And Lorenz launched his own public Instagram in 2022, after following in his father’s footsteps, as he signed with Brighton as their Under-18s goalkeeper.
In another big career move, he recently also signed with New Era Global Sports Management, joining his dad and uncle Anton at the agency.
New Era’s current Premier League clients include Everton defenders Ben Godfrey and Michael Keane as well as Jacob Murphy.
In addition to current stars, the agency also represents the interests of Ferdinand, Mick McCarthy, Harry Redknapp and Robbie Savage.

Lorenz announced the news with an Instagram post last month, which included images of himself with company chiefs, as well as a snap alongside his dad and stepmum.
Rio welcomed Lorenz, Tate and Tia from his marriage to his late wife Rebecca Ellison, who tragically died from breast cancer in 2015 aged 35.
The pundit went on to tie the knot with TOWIE star Kate in 2019, and they soon welcomed Cree the following year, with Kate giving birth to Shae last July.
Kate recently showed off her strong bond with Lorenz, as she commended him on his achievements on Instagram earlier this month.
The teenager closed off his season with Brighton FC under 18s with an awards night, where he scooped a gong, as Kate proudly watched on.
Sharing a sweet photo of her beaming with Lorenz, as he held his trophy, she gushed: ‘And just that the season is over. Such a proud moment watching you get your award last night.
‘It’s been a joy to watch you grow and I feel so lucky to be on this journey with you. I love you so much and we are all so happy to have you home for the summer before the hard work continues.’
Kate revealed last year Lorenz had flown the nest and was living with another family following his signing with the Seagulls.

The TV star and Rio admitted it was very emotional when the teenager moved out, but insisted they were proud as the family he was residing with praised his manners.
Speaking on her podcast Blended, Kate said: ‘I was devastated when he moved out. It’s a real big thing, I was emotional. I miss him so much. We still see him twice a week but it’s taken a lot of getting used to.’
Lorenz has the unenviable task of following his father’s stellar playing career, which included six Premier League titles, three League Cups, the Champions League and 81 caps for England.
