Charlotte Crosby has bravely revealed that she has endured a second silent miscarriage, just five months after her first pregnancy loss earlier this year.
The 36-year-old former Geordie Shore star learned the heartbreaking news at her eight-week scan, when she was told her unborn baby’s heart had stopped beating.
Ms Crosby, who is the mother of daughters Alba, three, and Pixi, 20 months, with fiancé Jake Ankers, shared the devastating revelation with her followers through an emotional Instagram post on Friday.
The reality television personality, who has been open about her desire to expand her family with Mr Ankers, described the moment as her “world came crashing down” and said the future now feels “uncertain.”
A silent miscarriage, also known as a missed miscarriage, occurs without symptoms and is only detected during a pregnancy scan.
In her Instagram post, Ms Crosby described the joy she and Ankers felt upon discovering the pregnancy: “Last month, we got the news we’d been hoping for. We found out we were pregnant.”
She continued: “It’s no secret that we’ve been trying to grow our family, so you can imagine the overwhelming happiness we felt when we saw the positive test.”
The mother-of-two acknowledged that her earlier loss had cast a shadow over the new pregnancy: “Especially after experiencing a silent miscarriage earlier this year, this pregnancy came with a lot of mixed emotions and nerves. It was a combination of happiness and fear at the same time.”
However, reaching the six-week milestone brought reassurance when the couple detected a heartbeat. Ms Crosby wrote: “This was our six weeks five days! The moment we had been waiting for… that little heartbeat.”
She explained that because their previous pregnancy had not progressed that far, the scan allowed both her and Mr Ankers to feel more at ease.
The couple’s joy was shattered at the eight-week scan. Ms Crosby wrote: “Unfortunately, on our eight-week scan our world came crashing down, as we got the news we’d been petrified of all along…
She recalled the words that she was told by medical staff: “‘I’m so sorry, the baby’s heart has stopped beating.'”
Ms Crosby described the devastating impact of that moment as she went on: “It felt like someone had ripped our hearts out of our chests. We lost another baby, another silent miscarriage.”
The couple had spent the weeks between their six-week and eight-week appointments trying to stay positive. Ms Crosby said: “We started really envisioning life as a family of five… a future with three kids!”
She added that they had begun planning how to break the news to their daughters and had even started discussing names, describing it as “the definition of cloud nine.”
Ms Crosby explained how her two children proved a guiding light amid the heartbreak. “We are incredibly lucky, and I can’t even explain how tight I’ve held these girls this last week!
“Having them both will always be the greatest blessing we have ever received. You feel that even harder after experiencing a loss like this!”
Looking toward the future, the former Celebs Go Dating star penned: “I’m not sure where we go from here and the future feels a little uncertain. We would absolutely love to grow out family however the fear of feeling this heartbreak again is terrifying.
“And if you’re going through something similar, you’re not alone.”
Ms Crosby first revealed in May that she had fallen pregnant with her third child earlier in the year, only to discover she had silently miscarried.
Following a D&C procedure, she developed an infection that caused her excruciating pain and required antibiotic treatment.
Ms Crosby and Mr Ankers, who also starred together in the BBC Three reality series Charlotte In Sunderland, began their relationship in 2022. They became engaged in October 2023 following the birth of their first daughter, Alba. Their second daughter, Pixi, arrived in early 2025.
