Despite recently calling off their engagement, Zoë Kravitz remembers Channing Tatum’s ‘charisma.’
On Thursday, the 36-year-old daughter of singer Lenny Kravitz opened up about casting and working alongside her ex in Blink Twice — which she directed, wrote and starred in — while appearing on Variety’s Directors on Directors.
‘Channing was the first person I thought of for Slater King, and I don’t know where that came from, similar to you,’ she told Matt Reeves, who directed her in The Batman.
The multi-hyphenate added: ‘I knew that the character needed to be somebody who we think we trust, especially because you don’t believe Naomi [Ackie] is getting on that plane if it’s someone who is immediately insidious.
‘I wanted to weaponize his charisma. We’ve never seen him do something like that,’ she shared.
Blink Twice, which was released in August, follows a group of women who are exposed to strange occurrences after being invited to the private island of a billionaire tech mogul with his wealthy male friends.
