A Tesco worker has allegedly been attacked by a man who threw a cup of coffee in his face.

Police are investigating an incident on Castle Street on the morning of July 2.

In a Facebook post, Salisbury Police asked the public “do you recognise this person?”

“Officers would like to speak to him in relation to an incident in the Tesco supermarket (on) Castle Street, Salisbury,” the statement read.

“About 6.30am on Wednesday July 2 a cup of coffee was reportedly thrown at a member of staff.”

Police said: “If you recognise this person, or if this is you” to call 101.

If calling, police have asked to quote the log number – 54250081254.

It comes less than a month after a group of thugs threatened Tesco staff with a knuckle duster before stealing a basket full of stolen goods.

The store released CCTV images of the reported offenders, which Kent police shared.

The alleged incident took place at the end of June at the supermarket on Crescent Road, Faversham about 11.20pm.

A security guard initially challenged two men after noticing suspicious behaviour by the pair.

The men then produced a weapon and threatened the employee, according to the report, subjecting them to racist abuse.

The pair escaped the store with a basket full of stolen goods.

Kent Police confirmed that they were investigating the claims and were hoping to speak to two men.

A police spokesman said “officers would now like to identify” two men.

They urged anyone with information to call police.
