Up to 6 inches of snow expected in NYC as Nor’easter wallops region, hundreds of flights canceled

Snow was pummeling the Tri-State area Tuesday as a major winter storm slammed the region bringing the most snowfall in years to New York City.

By the end of the day, New York City is expected to see a full five inches — 

enough for sledding in Central Park for the first time since the Big Apple broke a 700-day snow drought on Jan. 16.

About 224 flights – or  43% – out of LGA were nixed Tuesday morning, FlightAware data showed.

Conditions are then looking better for Valentine’s Day, expecting to clear up by tomorrow.
