Adam Brooks has delivered a scathing critique of Labour’s handling of the grooming gangs scandal, describing Labour as “so idiotic, it’s dangerous”.

Speaking to GB News, Mr Brooks said victims of these crimes are still being let down, shamed, and accused of lying, more than a decade after the offences were first exposed.

The comments come after four women have stepped down from the probe’s liaison panel after claiming that it was a “cover-up”.

Mr Brooks said: “It’s my opinion that we’re being run by idiots and they’re so idiotic, it’s dangerous.

Adam Brooks blasted the Government for ‘systematically covering up’ the grooming gang scandal

“We have victims being shamed, accused of lying. Let’s remember, the grooming gang and rape gang scandal is probably the worst scandal this country has seen in 50 years.

“We had young, working-class white girls targeted simply because they were white, raped, abused, and groomed. And it was systematically covered up, from councillors to politicians to mayors.

“That was under Labour’s watch. And there’s a reason Labour doesn’t want a full national inquiry, it’s because they’re in it up to their necks. They know what it’s going to uncover, and they’ve done everything they can to avoid it.

“They were dragged, kicking and screaming, to agree to this inquiry. It was obvious.

“Now we’re seeing it being mishandled, victims let down, cover-ups continuing. It’s unbelievable.

“And I have to ask the question: what is Labour hiding? What do they know?”

Shabana Mahmood has vowed that the door would ‘always remain open’ to victims who wish to return

Four grooming gang victims have resigned from the Home Office’s liaison panel, with one citing a “toxic, fearful environment” and the “condescending and controlling language” reportedly used towards survivors.

Ellie Reynolds, one of those who stepped down, said the “final turning point” came when there was a “push to widen the remit of the national inquiry in ways that downplay the racial and religious motivations behind our abuse.”

The Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has vowed that the door would “always remain open” should any of the former panel members decide to return.

The Home Secretary told GB News that the upcoming “statutory, national inquiry” will focus on the “predatory monsters” in the gangs and “is not, and never will be watered down on my watch”.

Ms Mahmood praised The People’s Channel for its work exposing the extent of the scandal and said that the inquiry will “explicitly examine the ethnicity and religion of the offenders”.

However, she appealed for time to ensure the right person is appointed to chair it, saying: “We have to get this right, and take the time to do so.”

Writing for GB News’s website, the Home Secretary warned: “Once the inquiry begins, the truth will follow. There will be no hiding place for those who abused the most vulnerable in our society.

“Nor will those who ignored victims, and even covered up what occurred, be shielded from the truth. A moment of reckoning will come.”
