Woman in her 60s mauled to death in dog attack in Liverpool house


woman has died after being attacked by dogs inside a house on Merseyside.

Paramedics alerted police to the victim in her 60s who was being mauled at the property on St Brigids Crescent, Liverpool.

She was pronounced dead at the scene in the Vauxhall area of the city around 4.25pm on Monday, North West Ambulance Service said.

Her next of kin have been informed.

A major emergency service response is currently at the scene, including officers from Merseyside Police, firefighters and medics.

A cordon is in place from Vauxhall Road to nearby Alderney Road.

Officers appear to be grouped around a side street of houses, the Liverpool Echo reported. Forensic officers are also at the scene.

Detective Inspector Gavin Mulcahy said: “We understand the shock that this incident will cause in the local community and beyond.

“Our officers are at the scene carrying out further enquiries so if you have any information please let us know.”
