Notting Hill Carnival 2022: Road closures, dates and timings

N

otting Hill Carnival will return to the London neighbourhood this August Bank Holiday, as about 2 million people are expected to gather and celebrate.

Much of the Notting Hill area will be dedicated to the carnival and its parade over the weekend, which means that locals need to be aware of which roads will be impacted as a result.

From 6am on Sunday August 28 until 6am on Tuesday August 30, most roads within the Notting Hill Carnival area will be closed.

At this time, only carnival floats, pre-authorised event vehicles, and emergency vehicles will be allowed in the area.

Residents will be expected to move vehicles from the carnival area by 6am on August 28, or even the night before. The police will be checking all vehicles entering the carnival area as well as the surrounding streets.

Notting Hill residents are also asked to leave it as late as possible before driving back into the area on Tuesday, once roads reopen.
