Three men have been charged with historical child sex offences, police have said.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said a total of seven charges included multiple counts of rape and sexual assault.

A force spokesperson said the charges related to alleged offences committed against one victim between 2008 and 2009.

The three men, all from Rochdale, have been bailed and are scheduled to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court in March.

It follows an investigation by GMP’s child sexual exploitation major investigation team under Operation Bridgewater.

Dilwar Ali, 45, is charged with two counts of raping a girl aged 13 to 15 and one count of assault by penetration.

He will appear before magistrates on 18 March.

Naveed Anwar, 41, and Mohammed Abdul-Sami, 44, are both charged with raping a girl aged 13 to 15 and the rape of a woman aged 16 or over.

They will appear at the same court the following day.
