A former Strictly dancing professional opened up live on GB News about the scandal-stricken series just hours after the show’s hosts announced their fast-approaching departure.

First paying tribute to the BBC “iconic” duo Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, who both announced they would leave the dancing show in December, the conversation quickly turned towards the scandals that have afflicted the much-loved show over the years.

Speaking to Tom Harwood and Dawn Neesom, AJ Pritchard said: “I think when it comes down to Strictly, they have to be very clear.

“Like if something has gone wrong and it’s evident and it’s been documented, that needs to be dealt with, whether that be remove a professional, like they’ve had to do in the past, or in the same cases, maybe speak to some of the celebrities.”

He added: “We want the best people in every scenario. But in life, we’re always going to have one or two bad apples in there.”
