A stolen bus driven on the wrong side of a road collided with multiple vehicles after its driver was attacked and ejected from the cabin.
West Mercia Police arrested a man in his 30s after the crash in Telford at around 6.37pm yesterday.
Officers were summoned to the scene along Court Street in Madeley upon receiving reports that the bus driver had been assaulted.
Footage shared online showed several members of the public bravely chasing down the stolen bus along the street before the vehicle braked.
In a shocking series of events, the vehicle was driven down Park Way towards the local High Street, on the wrong side of the road while it collided with several other vehicles.
Once the bus eventually came to a halt, police arrested a man on suspicion of robbery and dangerous driving.
Enquiries have continued while the man remains in custody.
The bus driver was treated for minor injuries by paramedics, the force confirmed, before being taken to hospital for further treatment.

No other reports of injuries have been made.
The police have now appealed for witnesses to come forward with information that may assist their investigation.
Detective Sergeant Taigh Lannie said: “We understand this will have been an alarming incident for those in the area this evening.
“I’d like to reassure the community that officers responded quickly and a man has been arrested and remains in police custody.

“Our enquiries are continuing and we’re keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened or may have footage that could assist us.
“In particular, we’d ask anyone with dashcam, CCTV, mobile phone or doorbell footage from the Court Street, Park Way or High Street areas around the time of the incident to please check their recordings and contact police.”
Eyewitnesses have been asked to get in touch with police by quoting incident number 379i of 18 September, 2026.
Delivering an update on the incident, the superintendent for local policing in Telford, Edward Hancox, heaped praise onto the brave Britons who tried to help, confirming armed officers had been deployed to the scene.
He said: “Thankfully, the bus driver did not suffer serious injuries, and I’d like to thank those members of the public who came to the driver’s aid and offered their help and support following what was understandably a distressing incident.
“The care and concern shown by the community has been greatly appreciated.
“We’re also very grateful to everyone who has already come forward with information or sent us footage.
“We are reviewing the material we have received as part of our enquiries, but we would still encourage anyone with footage or information who hasn’t yet spoken to us to please get in touch.
“We will continue to be open with the community and provide further updates when we are able to do so as the investigation progresses.”
