A worker has been killed at a Virginia concert venue after being crushed beneath a tour bus belonging to British rock band Squeeze.
The fatal incident took place at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, where the group had been scheduled to take the stage on Thursday evening.
According to police who spoke to FOX 5 DC, the victim was positioned underneath the vehicle when a supporting apparatus gave way, causing the bus to drop onto him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The worker’s identity has not yet been made public.

Following the tragedy, Squeeze immediately pulled their planned performance, which had been due to begin at 7.30pm local time. The band are currently midway through a US tour.
In a statement, the band said: “Squeeze are deeply saddened and shocked by an incident that occurred at the venue earlier today, which resulted in the loss of a life.”
They confirmed the decision to scrap the evening’s show had been taken “after discussions with the venue and the relevant authorities.”
The group added: “We will work with the promoter and venue regarding the possibility of rescheduling the show and will communicate further information to ticket holders as soon as it is available.”

Squeeze also expressed that their “thoughts remain with everyone affected by this tragic event.”
The band indicated they would share further details about any rescheduled date in due course, working alongside both the promoter and Wolf Trap to make arrangements for ticketholders.
Wolf Trap National Park issued its own statement on social media, announcing the cancellation as a mark of respect.
The venue described the deceased as “a member of the community at Wolf Trap National Park” and said the accident had “tragically” resulted in a loss of life.
“Out of respect, tonight’s show has been canceled,” the park said on its Facebook page.
Squeeze were originally formed in south London during the 1970s and rose to prominence with a string of beloved singles including Cool For Cats, Up The Junction and Labelled With Love.
The band is led by songwriting duo Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford, who have remained at its core despite numerous personnel changes over the decades.
More than 30 musicians have passed through the group’s ranks.

Their American tour is in support of Trixies, the band’s sixteenth studio album, which came out in March this year.
The record also spawned the tour that brought them to Virginia.
Despite the tragedy, Squeeze are expected to continue with upcoming US dates, with performances scheduled in Ohio and Illinois.
