Transfer news LIVE! Chelsea in secret Gvardiol bid; Arsenal want Gakpo

Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are all still busy in the final days of the transfer window. The Blues have stunned Europe by working on a secret deal to sign Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig which would see the defender join next summer. They also want Gunners target Wilfried Zaha, who has been linked with Spurs, too.

Chelsea are also wrapping up the signing of Wesley Fofana ahead of key talks over Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s move from Barcelona. Cristiano Ronaldo continues to be linked with the Blues as Anthony Gordon remains a top target for a potential £60million switch from Everton.

Mikel Arteta is keen to sign a midfielder and potentially a winger, with Cody Gakpo, Leandro Paredes and Mykhaylo Mudryk of interest after missing out on Pedro Neto. Tottenham have been linked with a fair few wingers of late, including Dan James and Ruslan Malinovskyi after reports of Yannick Carrasco signing from Atletico Madrid were dismissed. No concerns over Caicedo

Brighton CEO Paul Barber has no concerns over Moises Caicedo amid links with Arsenal and Liverpool.

Speaking with talkSPORT, he said: “Moises Caicedo has done well but he is still a very young player.

“We know with young players form is sometimes inconsistent and we don’t want the kind of pressure on Moises that these kinds of headlines create.

But he is a very level-headed young man. He is more than capable of dealing with it, in our opinion.”

Ronaldo wants Chelsea

Cristiano Ronaldo continues to push for a move away from Manchester United.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the 37-year-old does not want to join Napoli as he does not believe the club are capable of a deep Champions League run, and instead has his heart set on joining Chelsea.

While Ronaldo and his agent Jorge Mendes are trying to make that happen, Thomas Tuchel has no interest in signing the forward and so it would have to be led by Todd Boehly, which is looking unlikely.
