Transfer news LIVE! Arsenal plan late double deal; Gvardiol to Chelsea

Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham all remain busy on the penultimate day of the summer window. Mykhaylo Mudryk has responded favourably to Arsenal’s interest in his signature, while the Gunners are also said to have bid for Palmeiras star Danilo amid strong interest in PSG’s Leandro Paredes, Youri Tielemans, Pedro Neto and Cody Gakpo.

Chelsea are in advanced talks to sign RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol, while they are still trying to clinch deals for Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Everton winger Anthony Gordon with time quickly running out. The Blues should soon announce the big-money arrival of Wesley Fofana from Leicester.

Tottenham are eyeing a surprise late swoop for Dan James and have also chased his Leeds team-mate Jack Harrison, while Liverpool are still searching for a new midfielder and could move for Moises Caicedo at Brighton. Manchester United want to land Sergino Dest from Barcelona before Thursday’s deadline and could allow Aaron Wan-Bissaka to depart. £19m bid launched for Arsenal target Tielemans

Have Arsenal finally made their move for Youri Tielemans?

The Belgian international is another long-term target for Mikel Arteta, whose desire to further bolster his midfield ranks before tomorrow’s transfer deadline has been strengthened by injuries to Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny.

Football Insider now report that Leicester have received a £19m bid for Tielemans from a “mystery club”.

No word yet as to if that offer is being considered or indeed who exactly it’s from!

Liverpool ponder £42m Caicedo offer

Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a late move for Moises Caicedo, though Graham Potter insists Brighton won’t be forced into selling their star midfielder.

Jurgen Klopp performed a dramatic public U-turn on his stance over not signing a new midfielder last week amid injuries to the likes of Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita, Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

And the Reds are now pondering a £42m bid for Caicedo, per The Sun, a player whom Brighton only signed for £4.5m last January.

However, Potter insists that the Seagulls are determined to keep their Ecuador international at the Amex.

“In football you never know, but we are quite calm and confident,” he said. “You’d probably get his boots for that from the chairman — maybe! £100m? They can try.

“It doesn’t surprise me that people are looking at him, because he is playing at a fantastic level.

“He is a top, top kid, a great person. But the position that the club are in is that we don’t want to lose him and we don’t think we will. He has all the attributes to play at the very, very highest level.”

Chelsea in advanced Gvardiol talks

Chelsea have caused a shock by entering into talks over Josko Gvardiol.

Thomas Tuchel is on the lookout for further future defensive options with the imminent arrival of Wesley Fofana from Leicester as the Blues also frantically try to close deals for Anthony Gordon and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before the deadline.

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are in advanced negotiations with RB Leipzig over Gvardiol after making an offer of around €90m yesterday.

The deal would see the Croatian international remain in the Bundesliga on loan until next summer, when he would then make the move over to Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal submit £20m Danilo bid

Mykhaylo Mudryk is far from the only player on Arsenal’s radar before tomorrow night’s deadline.

The Gunners also appear eager to pull off a deal for long-term target Danilo at Palmeiras.

Goal claim that Arsenal have submitted a £20m proposal for the 21-year-old midfielder, which is likely to be rejected.

Apparently Palmeiras president Leila Pereira will only let him leave at this juncture for his full €100m release clause that applies to European suitors, with AC Milan also registering an interest.

A transfer in January may be more likely for Danilo.

Mudryk responds favourably to Arsenal interest

Arsenal are reportedly chasing a late summer move for Mykhaylo Mudryk.

The highly-rated winger – dubbed both the Ukrainian Messi and Ukrainian Neymar, depending on which publication you read – could leave Shakhtar Donetsk before Thursday night’s 11pm BST deadline.

Multiple outlets suggest Arsenal have explored a potential deal for Mudryk, who has also been compared to ex-Gunners winger Alexander Hleb.

Now, in true modern football fashion, the 21-year-old has even liked a post on Instagram claiming Arsenal are interested in taking him to the Emirates this week.

Klopp: Our midfield target joined another club

Jurgen Klopp has revealed Liverpool were unsuccessful in bringing in their top midfield target earlier in the summer.

It’s believed Aurelien Tchouameni was the man Liverpool wanted, before the Frenchman opted to join Real Madrid instead.

“We were going for a midfielder but that midfielder decided to go to another club,” Klopp said.

“That can happen. Some players in this moment are not available but for us really interesting. That’s how it is – we can make that decision.

“And now we can make the decision – we bring somebody in where you think, ‘Is it the right one?’ I’m not 100 per cent sure; short term probably yes, long term I’m not 100 per cent sure, and what would that mean for the next transfer?

“So, we always wanted, we always wanted but it was always about the right one. And we cannot change that just because of some things.”

Saka confident of new Arsenal deal

Bukayo Saka is confident he will sign a new contract at Arsenal, mirroring manager Mikel Arteta’s words.

Arteta last week told reporters: “I am very confident that we as a club, Bukayo and his family and agent are all aligned.

“Now it’s about putting that on a piece of paper. I would like that to get done because I don’t want players to be distracted in the season. But these things take time.”

Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s match against Aston Villa, Saka was asked if he agreed with Arteta’s view

He replied: “Yes, I share his confidence”.

Vieira has no doubt Zaha is staying

Patrick Vieira says he has “no doubt” that Wilfried Zaha will remain a Crystal Palace player beyond Thursday’s transfer deadline.

The Ivorian is into the final 12 months of his contract at Selhurst Park and is the subject of late window interest from Chelsea. However, Vieira insists he is not contemplating the possibility of life without his talisman.

“I didn’t even put that in my head,” Vieira said. “I didn’t even ask myself that question. I’m working with him every day and there is no doubt, there is nothing crossing my mind that something like that will happen.

“He never showed anything like that. The only thing he is showing is competitiveness on the field, doing well for the super club that he loves very much.”
