Gvardiol is a long-term target of the Blues, and many clubs across Europe, and with just two days left of the transfer window is reportedly the subject of a bid from Thomas Tuchel’s side.
The 20-year-old is considered one of the most talented young defenders in the game, who can play at both centre-back and left-back.
Chelsea have reportedly opened talks over signing Gvardiola next summer in a deal worth around £77million (€90m), with Gvardiol remaining at Leipzig for the coming season before linking up with the Blues 10 months’ time.
But Mintzlaff insists the player will not leave either this summer or next.
He told Bild Sport: “Josko still has a contract with us until 2026. We assume that he will not only play with us this season, but also next season.”
