Keane launches scathing attack on Man United – ‘The game is too big’

Erling Haaland and Phil Foden both scored hat-tricks as Manchester City ran out 6-3 winners at the Etihad Stadium, with the scoreline only flattering United.

A wonder-strike from Antony and a brace from substitute Anthony Martial came as only consolation for the away side, who were torn apart with ease by the champions.

Keane, speaking on Sky Sports at half-time, said: “Absolutely brilliant from Man City, but Man United? It’s like the game is too big for them.

“I almost can’t believe what I’m watching. We gave them some plaudits before the match but, as good as City have been, (United’s) passing has been sloppy, there’s gaps everywhere. And it could get a lot worse. Huge job for the manager at half-time.

“Do you just sit in and take your medicine or have a go because you’re Man United and you’re a huge club? You can’t be too embarrassed. I can’t believe how bad Man United have been, and now it’s about pride and personality and they’re not showing it.”
