In pictures: Potter spends first day at Chelsea training ground

helsea have released the first pictures of Graham Potter at the club’s training ground following his appointment as the new manager.

The Blues have lost three of their opening seven matches in all competitions this season, a run that, alongside issues behind the scenes, led to the sacking of Thomas Tuchel following defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.

Todd Boehly wasted little time in moving for Potter as the German’s replacement, with the club willing to pay Brighton his £15million release clause.

Potter was due to take charge of Chelsea for the first time at Fulham over the weekend, but all Premier League fixtures were postponed following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

That means Wednesday night’s Champions League clash against RB Salzburg at Stamford Bridge will be the Englishman’s first time in the Chelsea dugout, as the club look to get their European campaign back on track.

In his first interview with the club’s in-house media channel, Potter gave an insight into what he is looking to achieve with the Blues.

“It’s the start of a really exciting period, I think,” he told Chelsea’s website. “New ownership, who I was really, really excited with and impressed by, firstly as people and then their vision for the club and what they wanted to do.

“Of course, the history of the club speaks for itself, but it’s about trying to create that again in our own way.”

Potter added: “We like to play in an attacking way, a balanced way, and players have to feel free to make decisions and express themselves.

“It’s about winning, creating a team which competes, is honest and works together; it’s a combination between football and human values.”
