How we expect Tottenham to line up against Marseille tonight

Manager Antonio Conte will be conscious of Saturday’s visit to Manchester City when picking his XI for the French side, who are, on paper at least, the easiest of Spurs’ group stage opponents after coming from Pot 4.

Clement Lenglet was assured on debut in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Fulham but Ben Davies could return on the left of the back three, while Ivan Perisic is likely to come back in for Ryan Sessegnon at left wing-back.

Conte has been curiously reluctant to play Matt Doherty at the start of this season but Emerson Royal is surely due a rest and could be saved for the game at the Etihad Stadium.

Conte rested Dejan Kulusevski against Fulham, with Richarlison catching the eye on his full debut, and the Brazilian could keep his place against Marseille, with Heung-min Son dropping to the bench.

Conte’s only fitness concern is Lucas Moura, who remains sidelined with a tendon injury.

“Moura is not still available,” Conte said on Tuesday. “I think tomorrow he starts to have a training session on the pitch.

“He has this inflammation in his tendon and I hope to recover him very soon because especially up front we need him.”

Tottenham predicted XI (3-4-3): Lloris; Romero, Dier, Davies; Doherty, Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Perisic; Kulusevski, Richarlison, Kane.
