ntony Barry will continue to work at Chelsea following the arrival of Graham Potter as the club confirm the make-up of the new manager’s backroom staff.
Barry joined Chelsea in the summer of 2020 and worked alongside both Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel, while he also took charge of the first-team prior to Potter’s appointment.
With the club’s Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital ownership impressed with Potter, they have sanctioned multiple moves for some of the former Brighton manager’s coaching staff.
Billy Reid will continue to serve as his assistant manager, while former Brighton captain Bruno Saltor Grau and Bjorn Hamberg join as first-team coaches.
Goalkeeping coach Ben Roberts, who played for Middlesbrough against Chelsea in the 1997 FA Cup final, will work alongside Hilario in that department.
Recruitment expert Kyle Macaulay also joins Potter’s new-look staff and will “act as a conduit between that area and the coaching staff”.
Potter has signed a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge and will take charge of his first game later on Wednesday night in a Champions League meeting with Red Bull Salzburg.
