Snow and ice has affected schools in parts of Scotland for a fifth day.
All schools in Shetland are again closed following days of heavy snowfall.
Ullapool High School, Dingwall Academy and Inverness’ Charleston Academy and Inverness Royal Academy are among Highland Council schools that have been closed.
More than 60 schools in Aberdeenshire will also remain closed.
Many other pupils in the North East are set for a later start due to the wintry conditions.
It comes after dozens of drivers in the Highlands were unable to get home on Thursday evening, after snow drifts closed the A9 between Dunbeath and Helmsdale.

A Met Office yellow warning for snow and ice is in place for large parts of Scotland until 15:00 on Friday, external.
