Broadcaster and journalist Ryan-Mark Parsons has launched a scathing attack on Sadiq Khan’s knighthood, branding London’s mayor a “sanctimonious little twit”.
Speaking to GB News, Parsons expressed disbelief that Khan had received “one of the highest honours that you can achieve in this country”.
Sir Sadiq Khan has been awarded the knighthood in this year’s New Year Honours list, following his record third term as London Mayor.
The Mayor said he was “truly humbled” to receive the honour.

Parsons declared the decision to knight the London Mayor “absurd” amid concerns over the capital’s current state.
Parsons highlighted concerning statistics during Khan’s leadership, pointing to a “50 per cent increase in knife crime” and “88 per cent reduction in affordable housing”.
According to Parsons, London currently faces around 40 knife crime incidents per day, based on Met Police figures.
He expressed particular concern about young people’s safety in the capital, noting that many fear “just going out, having fun in the streets”.
The broadcaster also criticised Khan’s priorities, questioning why the Mayor focuses on international issues: “You see him talking about climate change and Gaza. Why is a Mayor of London concerned with what’s going on in Palestine and Israel?”
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Broadcaster Stephanie Takyi also voiced strong criticism of Khan’s knighthood on GB News. “Nothing has improved about this city – in fact, it’s quite dark at the moment, it’s quite bleak,” she said.
Takyi suggested the honour “makes a mockery of Londoners” who are struggling with the cost of living crisis. She highlighted ongoing safety concerns, noting that “women don’t feel safe on the streets of London”.
The commentator also questioned the timing of the accolade, suggesting officials had “definitely read the room wrong here”.
She added that Khan’s continued success was largely due to a lack of strong opposition, calling it “better the devil you know for a lot of voters”.

Khan secured his third term as London mayor in May, winning with a majority of 275,000 over Conservative rival Susan Hall.
The London Mayor, who grew up on a council estate in south London, said it was “the honour of my life to serve the city I love”.
“I couldn’t have dreamed when growing up on a council estate in south London that I would one day be mayor of London,” he said.
Khan pledged to continue his work for the capital, stating: “I will continue to build the fairer, safer, greener and more prosperous London that all of the capital’s communities deserve.”
