Reuben Owen has sarcastically hit back at complaints he pre-empted over his latest insight to his business operation in the Yorkshire Dales.
The young farmer recently returned to screens in his own Channel 5 series Reuben: Life in the Dales but he also regularly takes to Tiktok and Instagram to keep fans abreast of what he’s up to.
In his latest TikTok video, Owen showed off his latest work project which saw him have to cut down a fire-damaged tree.
Owen featured solo in the clip as he got to work felling the tree with his Life in the Dales co-star Sarah Dow nowhere to be seen.
However, that may not come as a surprise as Owen confirmed this month he and Dow had split up – despite only recently making their debut on-screen as a couple.
In the clip, Owen can be seen wearing a hi0vis jacket and orange hoodie while he’s lifted aloft by a JCB to cut down large branches.
Owen does so using a chainsaw and can be seen shuffling hastily across the platform of the lift when the branches begin to fall.
As the clip progresses, Owen’s TikTok followers witness the large tree fall and hit the grass below before Owen includes a photo of the scorch marks on the tree caused by fire.
In the accompanying caption, Owen penned: “Felling a fire damaged tree. I’m sure someone will complain im not wearing a helmet when limbing…
“But with the sizes of the branches, a helmet wouldn’t save ya. #tree #felling #fire #damaged #winch #fyp.”

While he already snidely hit back at any health and safety complaints, it didn’t stop several followers expressing their concern in the comments.
“Obviously never seen any of those bounce back up,” one fan pointed out in response to Owen’s remarks.
A second commented: “Typical farm person… sorry to say some of your procedures looked very dangerous.”
“You would if you was on the tv hahah,” a third teased before a fourth urged: “You should wear a helmet mate could save your life.”

However, others concentrated more on praising Owen for his hard work, with one typing: “Good job there reuben.” (sic)
While he may have caused controversy with his latest TikTok update, Owen’s first solo TV show without parents Amanda and Clive has garnered a much more pleasant response.
His mum, The Yorkshire Shepherdess, has also spoken out in support of her eldest son going solo on-screen.
