Britons have been notified that a Christmas decoration sold at two retailers may be unsafe.
The Christmas House Scene Tea Light Holder sold at The Range and Wilko presents a fire risk and has therefore been recalled from end users.

The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) stated: “The product presents a risk of fire as the position of the tea light holder is situated directly under the overhanging roof of one of the houses.
“After extended or frequent use, the wooden house decoration may ignite and cause a fire.
“This product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.
“The product has been recalled from end users. Owners are advised to stop using the product immediately and return it to any Range or Wilko store for a full refund (proof of purchase required).”

Wilko’s product recall notice stated: “Wilko and The Range have taken the precautionary measure of recalling the House Scene Tealight Holder that has been sold through our stores and our websites.
“This product is being recalled due to a potential fire hazard if a non-recommended sized tealight is used.
“Nothing matters more to us than our customer satisfaction so if you’ve purchased this product from us, please return it to any of our stores for a full refund – no proof of purchase is needed.”
Wilko and The Range apologised for any inconvenience caused to customers. Both retailers urged shoppers to contact their Customer Care Teams.
