Princess Kate has returned to royal duties with a busy public and private schedule amid a major “time of change” in her life, a veteran royal commentator has said.

Chief among these is the Princess of Wales being set to take centre stage during President Trump’s state visit to Britain this week.

On Wednesday, Kate will join Prince William for the initial reception of President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at Windsor Castle grounds.

Their role involves escorting the American delegation to meet King Charles and Queen Camilla for an outdoor welcome ceremony.

Later, the princess will also join the First Lady for a rare joint engagement at Frogmore Gardens.

Ahead of the major duty, Kate has thrown herself back into other royal engagements since returning from her annual summer break – with multiple appearances alongside the Prince of Wales and a solo trip.

This week, the princess unexpectedly joined William at Sunningdale Women’s Institute in Berkshire, marking the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.

To celebrate Britain’s textile heritage, Kate also made solo trips to Sudbury Silk Mills in Suffolk and Marina Mill in Kent.

It comes amid a “time of change” in her life, according to royal commentator Jennie Bond, with the approach of several important milestones clashing with her increasing royal workload.

“A new home beckons and a new school for George is now just one year away,” the commentator began.

The Wales family will relocate to their “forever home” at Forest Lodge in the coming months, which is undergoing major renovations ahead of their arrival.

Preparations will also be made for Prince George’s transition to secondary education next year, with the future King’s destination remaining officially unconfirmed.

Highlighting the busy schedule she has ahead, the commentator reckoned Kate “is now probably deeply involved in planning for her Christmas carol concert.

The princess is also preparing to see out major changes in her family, including moving house, Prince George’s new school and her anniversary with Prince William

“I’m sure there will also be other engagements to do with Shaping Us and early years development,” she added, referencing some of the Princess’s treasured causes.

On top of her royal duties, Kate must also contend with the busy schedule of a mum of three.

“With the children now back at school, there will be all sorts of activities and, no doubt, homework to keep the family busy,” the former BBC royal correspondent told The Mirror.

Moreover, Ms Bond said that: “The princess is also one year on from the end of her cancer treatment, and she and William are not far off celebrating their 15th wedding anniversary.”

Ms Bond assured that Kate would still ‘prioritise her health and her children’ amid the busy schedule

At such a crucial time in Kate’s life, Ms Bond admitted she was “quite surprised by the number of engagements she is carrying out.”

“It does suggest that she is feeling stronger and more confident about her recovery,” the commentator continued.

Even still, she noted that the Princess of Wales is keeping herself grounded.

“I think she is still keen to reserve the right to take things slowly when she feels the need and to prioritise her health and her children. But that’s OK.

“She is hugely popular and we all want her to take the time she needs before cramming her diary with royal duties,” Ms Bond assured.
