A decision regarding Princess Charlotte and Prince George is set to be made imminently as Prince William heads to Switzerland to watch the Lionesses take on Spain in the Women’s Euros final.

Kensington Palace confirmed that the Prince of Wales, who is patron of the Football Association, will make the trip to St Jakob-Park in Basel.

However, the Palace stopped short of confirming whether Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, or Prince Louis, seven, would accompany their father.

Prince George is a massive Aston Villa supporter, just like Prince William, and has accompanied the him to football matches several times.

For example, in 2024, Prince George and Prince William travelled to Berlin to watch the England men’s team play in the final of the Euros, where they unfortunately lost 2-1 to Spain.

In addition, the second-in-line to the throne joined both Princess Kate and Prince William at the Euros final in 2021 at Wembley Stadium, where Italy emerged victorious.

George’s younger siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, have never been photographed at football matches.

Despite this, the Prince of Wales has revealed their interest in the sport, telling the Lionesses in 2022: “Charlotte wanted me to tell you that she is really good at goal.

“She said, ‘Please tell them that’. She’s a budding star for the future.”

The young princess also joined her father in 2023 to film a good luck message to the England Women’s Team before their World Cup final match against Spain in Australia.

“Good luck, Lionesses!” Princess Charlotte said in the message, filmed outdoors as she and William sat on a bench together.

Meanwhile, Prince Louis is understood to be an Aston Villa fan, like his father and brother.

The seven-year-old was spotted in the Premier League club’s top during a kick-about with the Princess of Wales last December, according to the Sun.

His shirt, which Louis also wore at Sandringham over Christmas in 2024, was likely a hand-me-down from Prince George, as it carried the logo of Cazoo, which stopped sponsoring Villa in 2021.

The publication also reported that Louis and George play football for their local teams, with the Prince and Princess of Wales often cheering them on from the sidelines.
