Prince Andrew could face private prosecution as a campaign group is investigating whether they can launch legal action against the royal.
Legal representatives have been engaged by the anti-monarchy organisation Republic to examine the possibility of pursuing a private prosecution of Prince Andrew.
The charges under consideration include sexual assault, corruption and misconduct whilst holding public office.
Prince Andrew has consistently denied all allegations against him and The Metropolitan Police previously considered the sex assault claims were not sufficient to warrant further investigation.

This marks a new development for the campaign organisation, which has persistently advocated for police action and prosecution of Andrew.
The group has expressed strong disapproval of what it characterises as an insufficient and overly deferential political reaction to the controversy.
Republic has now engaged legal specialists who focus on private prosecutions to conduct an investigation and potentially initiate proceedings if appropriate.
Graham Smith, who leads Republic, said: “If not us, then who? It’s a devastating indictment on the UK’s criminal justice system, police and politicians – not to mention the king and heir – that we must resort to a private prosecution.”
