Newcastle inflicted a first defeat on Leicester boss Ruud Van Nistelrooy as three different goalscorers fired the Magpies to victory in Saturday’s dominant 4-0 win that pulls the club into the top half of the table.
Eddie Howe’s hosts found themselves ahead at the half-hour mark when midfielder Jacob Murphy sent a pinpoint shot into the bottom corner following a well-worked corner routine.
The Foxes stood firm for the remainder of the half before Bruno Guimaraes doubled Newcastle’s lead at the start of the second-half, with Alexander Isak scoring a third goal less than five minutes later.
