GB News host Martin Daubney was moved to tears live on the channel today, after a reading of John Armstrong’s poem Who Am I.
Martin said: “I feel very moved at this time to remember an incredible poem.”
Former SAS Officer Matthew Hellyer responded: “It’s so moving listening to John there talking about the the escapades of John over there and all of our ancestors before us, you know, fighting for queen and now king of country and and the history of this wonderful nation. You know, all, all of the islands that are part of this nation.
“We have freedom, we have democracy and that’s what it’s all about, that’s why we do it. That is why we’re here.
“And we just want for us, for me, I want the history to be taught in schools. I want the children to understand the sacrifice that all of our friends that we left on the battlefields and the reason why they’ve done it. So that they could have freedom, they could have speech.
“That’s why we do it. And that’s why our service men and women are doing it now, just to uphold the values of this country.”
