A man who died in a crash on the M60 “lived each day as it came and brightened the lives of everyone around him”, his family have said.

David Shepherd, 59, died on 12 October in a crash involving two cars and a motorbike on a section of the motorway near Salford.

Two drivers were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, and have since been bailed, Greater Manchester Police said.

In a tribute his family said he was a “loving grandfather, brother, partner and friend to all”.

The crash took place between junctions 15 and 16 on the clockwise section of the M60 at about 18:15 BST.

Police have repeated their appeal for anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward as they continue to investigate.

Mr Shepherd’s family said: “He embraced life with a boyish charm and a smile on his face”.

“He lived each day as it came and brightened the lives of everyone around him. He will forever be in our hearts.”
