Florida appeared to go full ‘MAGA’ election night as it was the top searched on Pornhub in the state.
The pornographic website revealed Donald Trump’s tagline was popular in the Sunshine State, which also included ‘MAGA nude,’ ‘MAGA liberal’ and ‘MAGA flag.’
More than 50 percent of Florida residents voted for Trump.
Pornhub statisticians gathered data on what users across the US were searching from November 3 to November 6.
Elsewhere in the US, the election seemed to have little bearing on people’s Pornhub searches.
People in swing-state Pennsylvania frequently searched for ‘tushy’ videos, while notoriously blue state California searched for ‘thick and curvy’ porn.
Pornhub statisticians created a map showing each state’s top relative search term – or the term searched more often when compared to other states – during election week
Pornhub is an international site that receives 130 million visitors worldwide each day, but gets the majority of its traffic from US viewers.
The site is currently banned in 14 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah and Virginia, so they were excluded from the map.
But those states that have access had interesting searches.
Washington’s top search was ‘transgender,’ while North Dakota was looking for content featuring ‘Native Americans.’
States like Oregon, which had ‘deeper’ as the most popular, and Maryland that looked up ‘cute’ left room for mystery.
But Pornhub’s statisticians didn’t stop at the map. They also released a report on their election day traffic, revealing some interesting trends.
Millions of Americans visit Pornhub every day, but it seems that the stress of election day may have driven more people to the site than usual.
By 5am on November 5, the site saw a nine percent spike in site activity compared to an average day.
Traffic continued to climb throughout the morning, peaking at 15 percent above average by 7 and 8am, ‘when no doubt voters wanted a quick session before the chaos of the day ensued,’ the report reads.
Site activity remained above average until about 3pm, when traffic began to decrease as it usually does in the early evening, according to the report.
Florida stood out as the only state with an explicitly political result, searching frequently for the acronym for President Elect Donald Trump’s campaign slogan: ‘MAGA’
This isn’t the first time that Americans have flocked to the adult website on election day.
In 2020, morning traffic was up 14 percent, dipped 11 percent during the evening, and then reached 14 above average again at 3 am on election day.
And on the morning of election day in 2016, traffic was up 17 percent at 8 am, down as low as 23 percent at 11 pm, and then shot up 10 percent at 3 am.
Pornhub even recorded unusually high traffic during and after a debate between President Joe Biden and Donald Trump in June.
The event started at 9pm ET – the same time viewership on Pornhub dropped by 8 percent from its average viewership.
‘You could certainly say the debate impacted the evening schedule of hundreds of thousands of Americans,’ a company spokesperson previously told DailyMail.com.
While the slump lasted for the beginning of the debate, searching spiked 12 percent above the average at 11pm – about 15 minutes following the showdown.
