Love Island: All Stars fans have been left in shock after they worked out Marcel Somerville’s ‘real age’ ahead of his return to the show.
It was previously confirmed that the reality star, who first appeared on the series in 2017, would be heading back into the villa next week.
The father-of-one, who is still married to estranged wife Rebecca Vieira, turned 39 on Tuesday, making him the oldest contestant to ever appear on the show.
Once fans worked out that Marcel was born in 1986, they flocked to social media to share their shock.
One fan posted on X, formerly Twitter: ‘Why is someone near 40 going in the villa. Like not even trying to be mean but the reality is Hannah did not have luck last year, this show isn’t going to have the crowd for him.’
‘Just went to look up Marcel’s age gosh he turns 39 today, there’s no way he’s lasting long in there!’; ‘He’ll probably drop out on day three or get dumped at the end of the week.’

While another added: ‘Marcel going back to Love Island has been killing me all day you’re 40 years old with children at home and on top of that still legally married.’
It comes as Marcel’s estranged wife Rebecca shared a cryptic post on Instagram on Tuesday, hours before he was confirmed to join Love Island: All Stars alongside his ex-girlfriend Gabby Allen, 32.
Marcel is part of the lineup for the second series of the ITV2 spin-off show, just months after splitting from Rebecca.
The star first appeared on the dating programme back in 2017 and came in fourth place with Gabby Allen.
They kept their romance going outside the villa, however, they split after he cheated on her during a holiday. Marcel later found love with athlete Rebecca and they tied the knot in August 2022.
However, the TV star moved out of their family home and deleted all presence of Rebecca on social media in March last year after his wife cheated. They are still married and are in the process of divorcing.
Now Rebecca has broken her silence by re-sharing a quote which read, ‘What makes you beautiful is that you stayed soft in a life that tried to harden you.’
She also shared with her followers a sizzling bikini picture and showed off her amazing figure in a Gucci two-piece while posing in a kitchen.

Following news of their split, Rebecca penned a public letter of apology, holding herself fully accountable for cheating on Marcel with American rapper Slim Jxmmi.
Taking to Instagram at the time, she wrote: ‘By now most of you would have seen what’s going on, I’ve made a huge mistake, I’ve embarrassed not only my husband but myself and both our families.’
‘My actions were foolish and have hurt so many people around us but most importantly my husband.’
‘I’ve said a lot of things that I shouldn’t have and it was stupid of me so I won’t sit here and justify my actions, those decisions should have never been made.’
She added: ‘I want to publicly apologise to my Marcel, just as loudly as the rest of the noise. For all the hurt, embarrassment and pain I have put him through there is nothing and no one in the world that comes before you and our family.’
‘No-one could ever compare.’
She then posted a picture of the couple’s gold wedding bands which had engraved ‘always and forever.’

Marcel and Rebecca welcomed their son Roman back in January 2021 and now co-parent their little boy.
Rounding off the year, Marcel said he was glad to say bye to 2024 as it was the ‘hardest year of his life’.
In September, Marcel shared a post reflecting on his ‘stressful year’ full of ‘ups and downs’ and said he wants to focus on his son Roman and ‘protecting his future’.
He penned: ‘It’s been a stressful year, ups and downs but you only get dealt what you can manage.’

‘Things happen in life that make you take a look at the things that are most important to you and for me the most important thing to me is my Son and doing everything within my power to make sure he’s always going to be GOOD!’
‘Protecting his future is something I always tried to do but if this year showed me anything it’s that life can always throw a curve ball.’
‘So I’ve been on a journey of learning and growth that’s put me on a path I never thought about before.’
‘I’ve learnt you can’t always protect them against everything life throws but my priority now is to ensure I can give Ro everything he needs in life until I can’t.’
‘I’ve added a new string to the bow after the turmoil and it’s brought me happiness putting my energy into something that’s given me so much already.’
