Television property expert Kirstie Allsopp has launched a scathing attack on the Prime Minister’s recent comments about Digital ID technology.
The Channel 4 presenter took to social media to condemn Sir Keir Starmer’s suggestion that digital identification could streamline property purchases.
Ms Allsopp responded to Keir Starmer’s post on X with a single word: “Seriously?!”
She followed this with sharp criticism of his claims about Digital ID’s potential benefits for homebuyers.

The Location, Location, Location host expressed fury at what she perceived as misleading statements from Mr Starmer.
Her response came after the Prime Minister shared his views on how digital identification systems could transform the house-buying process.
Mr Starmer had shared an anecdote on X about meeting a woman purchasing property with her partner.
In his post, he recounted how she complained about having to pay fees simply to confirm her identity during the transaction process.

He argued that implementing Digital ID technology would enable such verification to occur within seconds whilst eliminating associated expenses.
The Prime Minister’s message stated: “I recently spoke with someone buying a house with her partner.
“She told me that she had to pay just to verify who she was. With digital ID that could be done in seconds and wipe out the costs. Digital ID will save you time and money.”
His comments positioned digital identification as a practical solution for reducing both the financial burden and time delays faced by prospective homeowners.
The television presenter amplified her response by sharing Starmer’s original post whilst adding her own pointed commentary.
She wrote: “This is outrageous, how dare @KeirStarmer pretend that Digital ID is what will sort out our broken homes transaction system, he’s a lawyer FFS he knows this isn’t true.”
The property expert’s intervention represents a notable public challenge to the Government’s Digital ID proposals, particularly regarding their application to the housing market.
