Princess Kate and Prince William are “unlikely to welcome Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew as neighbours” amid the upcoming Windsor reshuffle, a royal commentator has claimed.

Reports suggest that Fergie may soon move into Adelaide Cottage, the Windsor residence soon to be vacated by the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Meanwhile, Andrew is lined up to occupy Frogmore Cottage, formerly the home of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, according to reports in the Sun.

The arrangements, if they go ahead, would keep the pair on the Windsor estate, but raise fresh tensions over proximity to Kate and William.

The pair’s possible relocation comes amid mounting pressure on Andrew to vacate his current home, Royal Lodge, a 30-room mansion in Windsor Great Park he has occupied for many years.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams spoke exclusively to GB News about how William and Kate might feel about Fergie as a neighbour.

He claimed: “Can you imagine her as a neighbour? The Waleses wouldn’t want Sarah Ferguson or Andrew anywhere near them.

“There might be something that could be done with one of the royal homes (Frogmore Cottage or Adelaide Cottage), of course.

“I mean, Andrew and Sarah have got to go somewhere. Abroad would be an excellent idea, Abu Dhabi or Switzerland.

“But just being practical for a moment, the idea that someone who has behaved as she has thought this up.

“What’s extraordinary is that we’ve had 14 or 15 years of scams. People are absolutely sick of this.”

Mr Fitzwilliams added: “He gets five per cent approval in the polls. Politicians are very restless.

“Ed Davey, this morning, was talking about the importance of the monarchy being transparent, the possibility that they might have a debate.

“The FBI has been talking about asking Andrew to testify or whatever. Congress has been discussing this.

“And of course, there’s a police investigation going on about what he asked his personal assistant to ask a personal bodyguard to research about Virginia Giuffre.

“But at the heart of all this, with reference to the homes — they’ve got to live somewhere, sure.

“You give up one (Royal Lodge), which has 30 rooms, and then you take two (Frogmore Cottage and Adelaide Cottage).

“The irony is, of course, that this is the world’s most happily divorced couple, according to her.

“Well, they don’t seem to want to live together, even if it is around the corner. Now, they’re both in disgrace.”

The proposed move of Fergie into Adelaide Cottage is seen as especially provocative since William and Kate plan to relocate to Forest Lodge by early November.

Sarah, who has not been a working royal for decades, remains a subject of public scrutiny and media criticism.

Andrew’s exit from Royal Lodge is also complex.

Despite a lease that runs to 2078 and minimal rent, he is understood to be willing to leave only if his terms are met — namely, access to Frogmore Cottage or a similar residence.

As negotiations continue behind Palace walls, the outcome of the housing shuffle in Windsor will likely be watched closely by the public.
