Scotland has watched in horror over the past year as Humza Yousaf’s SNP-Green calamity Government has veered from one disaster to another.
It made our nation weep to see once proud educational standards fall into an abyss affecting the aspirations and future opportunity of children across Scotland from the Borders to the Highlands.
Families have despaired at the state of Scotland’s NHS with the desperately ill being told they will wait years for operations, and changes to GP services rendering them increasingly inaccessible.
We have witnessed local services decapitated as the result of the Scottish Government’s disastrous budget and the imposition of a flawed council freeze- just when local authorities needed most support.

And we can expect this regressive policy impact for years to come, with the creation of six income tax bands, rendering generations of entrepreneurial Scotland uncompetitive.
SNP ideology crescendoed of course with the creation of the Hate Crime Law and the failed Gender Recognition Act following on from the scrapped Named Persons Act and the Offensive Behaviour at Football Act.
All have the same underlying theme, bringing the state into play in people’s family, religious and personal lives alongside a little dictat of what we should think and believe and the threat of punishment for those who don’t comply.
In our Scottish land of the enlightenment, the perpetual message has resounded ‘never think for yourself’ as ‘the SNP knows best’.

Largely because they never got over the basics of democracy and that most people in Scotland rejected independence – ‘if only their faulty thinking and leaning could be reshaped for the future we would win’.
Dispiritingly, therefore there will be no change in any of this with the recycling of failed past SNP leader John Swinney.
He has of course, been in prominent roles throughout and has largely presided over all of that which has gone wrong already.
His main role therefore appears to be giving Scotland more of the same – appeasing Green Party ideology at Holyrood in order to reinforce the dogma of nationalism upon our lives.
