Jessica Rowe stunned followers on Monday when she ripped off her shirt to share a near nude photo of herself online, but quickly revealed there was a good reason for it.
The former Studio 10 co-host, 54, posted the photo to her Instagram account as she posed completely topless in a medical clinic with her back to the camera.
Wearing just a floral pair of blue slacks, Jess stood facing a mammography unit in Bondi Junction as she had her breasts checked for cancer.
Partnering up with the Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation, Jess also dyed her pixie cut pink in support of breast cancer awareness as she received a mammogram.
‘If you’re anything like me, you procrastinate when it comes to looking after yourself (and returning phone calls! Sorry Daddo!)’ she wrote alongside the topless image.
‘However this year I’m going to put myself first more. So I started by getting a mammogram at BreastScreen NSW.’

She added: ‘It’s free and designed for women aged 50 plus. (It’s also free for women 40 plus too.)’
Jess went on to say she visited the BreastScreen clinic at Myer in Bondi Junction, but explained ‘there’s also one at DJ’s in the city’.
After providing her followers with the phone number and website address to use to book their own breast screening, she said: ‘Make sure you do more for you this year!’
According to the Department of Health and Aged Care, mammograms are conducted by radiographers, with patients required to remove their clothing from the waist up.
The radiographer will then place one breast at a time between two plates on the X-ray machine—the mammography unit which is held in a private room.
The machine will press firmly on your breast for about 10 seconds to take two pictures of each breast—one from the side and one from the top.
Having a mammogram can feel uncomfortable but should only last a few minutes.
Jess shares daughters Giselle, 15, and Allegra, 17, with her husband Peter Overton who she married in 2004.

Allegra has made a name for herself as a rising star in the modelling world after making her Australian Fashion Week debut in May last year.
But she admitted in June that her TV star mother’s connections are what helped her get her foot in the door of the competitive industry.
The teenager told Stellar Magazine that Jess got in touch with her old modelling agency and managed to get Allegra a spot with them.
‘I’ve always had a dream of modelling. I’ve loved fashion and styling different pieces from a very young age, including some from my mum’s wardrobe,’ she said.
‘When I was in Year 9, I became really curious and interested, so Mum got in touch with her old agency from when she did modelling when she was around my age.’
