Former footballer Alex Scott shared a candid update in the I’m A Celebrity jungle about her relationship with singer Jess Glynne.

Ms Scott, 41, gave a direct answer when she was asked about whether a wedding was on the horizon, admitting she is waiting on her Hold My Hand partner to pop the question.

The honest confession prompted Ms Glynne to respond on her social media account, with fans of the two delighted by the update, which came during a discussion with Ruby Wax and Shona McGarty.

During Tuesday’s episode of the ITV show, Ms Scott had been telling Ms Wax about her girlfriend and how they met.

“I think before her, I never knew happiness,” the former Lioness reflected.

The remark prompted Ms Wax to ask how she had met the English popstar, who has made history among British female solo artists with seven number one singles.

“She approached me in Chiltern Firehouse,” Ms Scott recalled. “I was in there with my friends and she just walked up to me…

“Really ballsy. And I was like, ‘I like your ballsiness,’ and then the spark was just instant and then yeah, we fell madly in love.”

American-British comedian Ms Wax then enquired about wedding plans, with Ms Scott not hesitating as she replied: “I will get married to her, just waiting for her to ask, Rubes!”

The football pundit has been romantically linked with Ms Glynne since 2023, and in the same episode, Ms Scott also revealed her jungle stint would mark the longest time the couple have been apart.

Responding to the marriage confession, Ms Glynne quickly took to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday evening, where she wrote: “I better go get a ring”.

Fans of the duo have shared their excitement, with one writing on I’m A Celebrity’s official Instagram page: “Petition for Jess to propose to Alex on the exit bridge” beneath a photo of the conversation between Ms Scott and Ms Wax.

Another penned: “I was thinking the same as soon as Alex said it. But I don’t think she will.”

“The royal wedding none of us knew we needed! Come on Jess and Alex,” a third quipped.

“Let’s go @jessglynne,” someone else shared, while a fifth added: “Actually sobbing.”

“So glad Jess finally found her person after everything she’s been through these past years,” another fan pointed out.

Also piling on the pressure to Ms Glynne, another wrote: “Come on Jess.”

One more shared: “Well that’s an obvious clue for @jessglynne to get over to Oz ASAP and wait till Alex is out and wait at the end of the bridge before getting down on one knee and asking her!!!!” (sic)

Elsewhere on Tuesday’s show, the celebrities prompted confusion as they became emotional over photos from home.

Fans took to social media to question why several were crying over family photos despite having been in the jungle for only three days.
