Teenage spinner Aimee Maguire has returned to the Ireland cricket squad for their white-ball tour to South Africa in December.

The 19-year-old is back in the senior side for the first time since receiving ICC clearance for her remodelled bowling action in August.

Maguire had previously been suspended after she was reported by match officials following Ireland’s one-day international against India in Rajkot on 10 January.

Head coach Lloyd Tennant has named two squads as Ireland face South Africa for the first time since 2022 in both ODI and T20 matches.

Gaby Lewis will serve as captain in both series, with a further 12 players also named to feature in each three-game set.

All-rounder Georgina Dempsey has been named in the ODI squad for the first time since January after a lengthy injury lay-off but, along with Sarah Forbes, will then make way for all-rounders Alana Dalzell and Louise Little for the T20s.

Ireland will play three one-day internationals against South Africa on 5, 7 and 10 December.

The two teams will then meet again in three T20 internationals on13, 16 and 19 December.
