Sir Rod Stewart celebrated his 80th birthday in style in St Barts on Friday.
The rocker has hired a $150million super yacht for a holiday of a lifetime with his wife Penny, 53, and seven of his eight children.
And Rod, who has barely aged in decades and still rocks the same hairstyle 60 years on, has insisted despite reaching a milestone age, he has ‘no desire to retire’.
Here MailOnline takes a look at the male octogenarians who haven’t aged in decades and the secrets to their success…

He used to use his sister’s hairspray, backcombing and his hands to hold it in place to protect it from the winds of Highgate’s underground station.
And decades on, Rod still has an impressive head of spiky hair and isn’t afraid to experiment with his fashion choices.
For his St Barts holiday, Sir Rod rocked a huge sun hat as he hit the beach with his family.
In a frank interview last year, Rod revealed he has ‘no fear’ about death ahead of his 80th birthday, adding he aims to stick around for another 15 years, but also acknowledged his ‘days are numbered’.
He told The Sun: ‘I’m aware my days are numbered but I’ve got no fear. We have all got to pass on at some point, so we are all in the same basket. I am going to be enjoying myself for these last few years as much as I can. I say few — probably another 15. I can do that easy mate, easy.’
Rod also stays young thanks to his two teenage boys; Alastair, 19, and Aiden Patrick, 14. He married wife Penny, who is 27 years his junior, in 2007
He admitted: ‘I’m not like I was in the ’70s and ’80s and I can’t stay up all night, get drunk and go mad and still have a voice just like that. Nowadays I have to protect my voice before and after every show.
But Rod insisted: ‘But no, you think I just have water on my rider? You’re talking to Rod Stewart here, mate. We go mad after every show. There are 13 of us, six women, really great musicians and I make them drink. We absolutely love it.’
Rod, who has had both prostate and thyroid cancer, said: ‘I am more aware of my health now than before. You should be when you start getting on a bit. It’s very important. I am a bit of a hypochondriac. I think men in particular should take advantage of all the wonderful medical science out there.
Despite this, he revealed he doesn’t take any medication at all apart from the odd anti-inflammatory if his knee is giving him trouble.
Rod said he works out three or four times a day and is kept on the straight and narrow by his personal trainer whom he has been working with for over three decades.
He is currently constructing a racing track at his Essex mansion to aid him on his mission to break the world record for the 100m sprint in his age group.

Mick Jagger: 81
For Mick, who is 81, is ageless and still rocks abundant hair which shows no speck of grey – despite saying: ‘When I turn 33, I’ll retire’

A question often put to the 20-year-old Mick Jagger, during his first thunderclap of notoriety in 1963, was what he expected to be doing at 30 – then seen as an impossible age for a rock star.
Similarly, in 1983, as a 40-year-old, it seemed barely credible he could go on strutting on stage and singing Satisfaction, Street-Fighting Man and Jumpin’ Jack Flash.
Who would have believed he’d eventually double that, yet still show no sign of fatigue?
For Mick, who is 81, is ageless and still rocks abundant hair which shows no speck of grey – despite saying: ‘When I turn 33, I’ll retire.’
His father was a gymnastics teacher who insisted he and his younger brother follow a strict regimen of sports and exercise, with Mick still keeping this up to current day.
Mick exercises for an hour every day and rarely drinks alcohol. He has suffered just one major health crisis – a heart valve replacement in 2019.
And the rocker has lived up to his rock and roll status with his love life, having eight children from five different mothers.

Their son, Deveraux, seven, also keeps Mick on his toes.

Faulty Towers star John Cleese, meanwhile, forks out up to £17,000 a year to pay for stem cell therapy to combat the side-effects of ageing.
The actor admitted the fee was hefty was claimed it’s ‘worth it if you’re buying yourself a few extra years’.
John, who has been having the treatment for more than 20 years, is ensuring he doesn’t ‘look bad’ for his age by getting the ‘highest quality’ cells from Switzerland.
He told Saga magazine: ‘These cells travel around the body and when they discover a place that needs repair, they’ll then change into the cells that you want for repair, so they might become cartilage cells or liver cells.
‘So I think that’s why I don’t look bad for 84.’
He admitted he was paying around £17,000 every 12-18 months, adding: ‘But if you’re buying yourself a few extra years, I think it’s worth it.
‘You must get the highest quality stem cells – the ones I have are from a place in Montreux, Switzerland, called La Prairie.’
Cleese also credited his fourth wife, Jennifer Wade – who is more than 30 years his junior – for the spring in his step, but admitted it was ‘sad’ he would die ‘some time’ before her.
He added: ‘A lot of people comment and then the moment they actually see us together for two minutes they say ‘oh, I get it’ and it never arises again.
‘What I love is that she’s 30 years younger than I am, but she keeps me young. I mean, it is sad to think I shall die some time before she will, but I’m in pretty good health.
‘I’m not fit, but the way I put it is the doctors don’t yet know what I’m going to die of.’
Tom Jones, 84

He stopped dying his hair black when we was 68-years-old. Of why he decided to ditch the hair-dye, he told the Radio Times: ‘To each his own. It’s not for me to tell others what to do. But you can’t get to a certain age and have black hair. If some can, bless ’em.
‘Every Christmas I’d take two months off and never dye my hair. […] It must have looked pretty obvious. I should have let it go five years earlier.’
Now 84, the singer has showed no signs of slowing down. Back in 2023, Tom insisted he has no plans to retire from performing anytime soon.
In 2022, Tom had his second hip replacement surgery after having his first done back in 2017.
He said: ‘The only way [I would retire] is if I couldn’t sing any more. If something went wrong with my vocal ability, I wouldn’t want to go on not in full strength. I wouldn’t like to shortchange an audience.
‘Being old, you can’t do what you used to do. I mean, I can’t walk around like I used to but I wouldn’t want to now. When you’re young you’re full of p*** and vinegar and you’re giving it plenty. Now I concentrate more on singing than I do anything else.
Replacement: Back in 2017, Tom got his first hip replaced and spoke to MailOnline about his life after the surgery
‘I’m still able to get up there and do it live. I don’t know, it’s a good question because I’ve never really thought about that … If people want to go and see that then fine.’
The Voice judge, who previously said he still boasted at 12 pack, credited his physique to a healthy diet and lots of exercise.
Tom also told how he practices inversion therapy, where people are suspended upside down to stretch the spine and relieve back pain.
He said: ‘In 2030 I am going to be 90 years old. I hang upside down. You know on one of those frames. It’s great. You put your feet in the thing and you flip and you hang.’
Morgan Freeman: 87
Morgan Freeman is now 87. When he turned 80 back in 2017, he said: ‘I keep hearing, “What does it feel like to turn 80?’ My answer is, “What is it supposed to feel like’ (right in 2015)
When Morgan turned 80 back in 2017, he said: ‘I keep hearing, “What does it feel like to turn 80?’ My answer is, “What is it supposed to feel like when you turn a certain age? Is there a manual?”
‘Here’s what I really think about getting older: I figure that the older I get, the more people see my work and the better-known I am. That’s a win-win.’
Morgan is now 87, and admitted last year on Good Morning Britain stage work is ‘too hard a challenge for me’.
Freeman’s last theatre appearance was in 2011 as David Boies in Dustin Lance Black’s play 8.
Morgan said: ‘I’ve been to plays at the West End and that was when I was stage conscious. Now I’m not stage conscious because stage is too hard a challenge for me.
‘Last time I remember being on stage, I forgot my lines, and I can’t tell you how terrifying that is.’
Paul McCartney, 82

Last year Paul stunned fans that he is still touring at 82-years-old, with some hailing him a ‘legend and national treasure’.
The musician brought his Got Back world tour to the United Kingdom in December as part of a newly announced set of European concerts.
And while excitement spread around Britain about his extended tour, many fans were in disbelief that the age-defying rocker isn’t stopping anytime soon.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, some commented: ‘Paul McCartney is 82 and still touring. Incredible’,
‘And I will spend every pound i’ve got’,
‘Worth it. He’s still far better than you’d reasonably expect any 82-year-old to be and his band is phenomenal too.’
One of the most successful singer-songwriters and performers of all time, Sir Paul is behind the most beloved catalogue in music.
With a mixture of songs including Hey Jude, Live and Let Die, Band on the Run, and Let It Be, the Paul McCartney live experience features the best of Sir Paul’s solo, Wings and Beatles catalogues.
His 2022 Glastonbury performance was hailed as “one of the greatest gigs of all time” and “a masterclass from the greatest living cultural figure in this country’s history.” It was also Sir Paul and his band’s 500th show together.
Clint Eastwood, 94
Last year, Clint showed he wasn’t letting age slow him down after making a rare public appearance in California just before his 94th birthday (pictured left, right in 2012)
Clint fathered eight children with six different women over the years. He’s seen with three of his children in 2018
The success of his Dollars trilogy with Sergio Leone led to bigger roles, like in 1971’s Dirty Harry (pictured), and that year he made his directorial debut with Play Misty For Me
Last year, Clint showed he wasn’t letting age slow him down after making a rare public appearance in California just before his 94th birthday.
The filmmaker was spotted attending a speaking event hosted by renowned conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall in his adoptive hometown of Carmel-by-the-Sea late last month.
The film icon – dressed in blue checkered flannel shirt – appeared advanced in age but still in high spirits.
Clint has seen a successful storied career in film – and even a two-year stint as mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea – over a span of seven decades.
Despite his advanced years, Eastwood remains active on set and is currently directing and producing upcoming film, Juror No. 2, starring Nicholas Hoult and Toni Collette.
The thriller began shooting in June 2023 and is expected to be his last.
And while the acclaimed star is best known for his award-winning movies and spaghetti Westerns, his colorful love life often overshadowed his impressive strides in the movie industry.
The Hollywood legend went through multiple failed marriages, faced numerous allegations of infidelities, and fathered eight children with six different women over the years.
But despite being embroiled in scandal after scandal and earning a fierce reputation as a womanizer, it’s been said that Clint was an extremely dedicated father who worked tirelessly to protect each of his children and give them as normal of a childhood as possible.
