Charlie Weasley is the second oldest of the Weasley children, after Bill, in a family that also includes Percy, twins Fred and George, Ron, and Ginny.
In the books, he is a former Hogwarts pupil who went on to work with dragons in Romania.
As Ron’s brother, Charlie holds a small but meaningful place in the wider Weasley family story, and his inclusion appears to signal the series’ intent to draw more deeply from Ms Rowling’s written world.
Season one launches on Christmas Day on HBO, with the second season, adapted from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, already in production at Leavesden Studios outside London.
