Harry Wilson will captain Wales for the first time in Tuesday’s final World Cup qualifier against North Macedonia.

Regular skippers Aaron Ramsey and Ben Davies are injured, while Ethan Ampadu – who led Wales in Saturday’s 1-0 win in Liechtenstein – is suspended.

Fulham playmaker Wilson, 28, will wear the armband for the first time in his entire senior career in club or international football.

Wales need to beat North Macedonia at Cardiff City Stadium to finish second in their World Cup qualifying group and secure a home play-off semi-final in March.

Lose and Wales will still make it to the play-offs thanks to their Nations League success, but they will be away for their semi-final.

Home advantage in the final – played over one leg like the semi-final – will be decided by a draw on Thursday.
