Five teenage boys sustained serious injuries after being stabbed at a Halloween house party.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary received reports of the incident at a property on Park Road in Chandler’s Ford shortly after 10.30pm last night.
The victims, three aged 16 and two aged 17, were all rushed to hospital for treatment.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers determined that an “unknown group” had entered the party at the address before the attack took place.
The boys had been attending a gathering at the property when the group gained access and the stabbings occurred.
All five teenagers suffered wounds described by police as serious, and the force confirmed that an investigation had been launched.
Cordons have been established on both Park Road and Valley Road as detectives continue their work at the scene.
Throughout the night, investigating officers spoke with witnesses, carried out door-to-door enquiries at neighbouring properties, and worked to identify available CCTV and other footage from the area.
The force also extended its checks to a number of surrounding streets as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police remained present at the location today as their enquiries progressed.
Senior investigating officer DCI Elizabeth Pirie acknowledged the effect the visible police presence would have on local residents.
She said: “These scenes are vitally important for our enquiries and we are grateful to the understanding of our communities whilst we work to establish the facts.”
DCI Pirie urged anyone who attended the gathering and has not yet contacted police to do so as soon as possible.
She said: “We particularly want to hear from anyone who can provide information to support our investigation.
“If you were at the party and have not spoken with officers yet, or you have any CCTV, mobile phone, dash cam or doorbell camera footage covering Park Road and the surrounding area, then please get in touch.”
The senior investigating officer stressed that even seemingly minor details could prove valuable, adding: “Any information, however small it may seem, could help our enquiries.”
Detectives are also working to identify members of the group responsible for the attack.
Anyone with information can reach Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary on 101, quoting reference 44260534624. Reports can also be made anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Liz Jarvis, the MP for Eastleigh, responded to the incident on Sunday. Writing on X, she said: “My thoughts are with the victims and their families and all those affected by the incident in Chandler’s Ford last night, and my thanks go to our local police and emergency services for their prompt response.”
She also urged the public to be cautious about how they discuss the attack, adding: “It’s important not to speculate or share unverified information.”
