He took a big risk when he jumped ship from Channel Ten, where he was the host of a well-established TV show, to rival network Seven.
And it seems Dr Chris Brown’s career could be in jeopardy amid rumours that his Channel Seven show Dream Home has been axed.
The Australian presenter, 46, fronted the new renovation series when it hit screens on Seven earlier this year.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, a Seven insider claims the network has no plans to include the reality TV show in its 2025 line-up.
The news comes just a day out from Seven’s Upfronts event.
‘Sadly Dream Home which announced casting for season two mid last year has had the rug pulled from under it,’ the insider claimed.
‘Dream Home wasn’t the dream show Channel Seven wanted it to be.’
The claims have sparked fears for Dr Chris’ TV career after he jumped ship from Ten, where he co-hosted I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here with Julia Morris.

The veterinarian then signed a contract with Seven in 2023, reportedly worth $1million per year.
‘There really hasn’t been the noise or the ratings worth stealing Dr Chris Brown off Network Ten,’ the source added.
‘Which was a big shock to the industry when they poached him in 2023.
‘The series was supposed to be the Seven network’s answer to The Block, but it failed to excite audiences.’
When contacted by Daily Mail Australia, Seven said the claims were ‘baseless’.
Dream Home was by no means a ratings disaster for Seven, with its May premiere raking in a total national TV reach of 2,253,000.

The popularity had waned as the series progressed however, with the finale attracting just 807,000 national viewers.
While smaller, the Dream Home finale still beat MasterChef on Ten, which saw 689,000 viewers that week, and Tipping Point Australia – Olympic Specials on Nine, which attracted 679,000 viewers.
Amid speculation around Dream Home’s fate, the source added that a raft of other popular shows will be returning to the network in 2025.
They claimed there will be little other changes in Seven’s 2025 line-up with the likes of Farmer Wants A Wife, The Voice Australia, My Kitchen Rules and Dancing With The Stars all slated to return.
‘The networks try and have something really noisy to launch when they have all the media buyers in the room, but Channel Seven has nothing like a Golden Bachelor or Big Brother Australia to announce which are the shows Network Ten and Channel Nine really dined-out-on at their Upfronts,’ the said.
The TV insider also claimed that SAS Australia, which was rumoured to return in 2025, has been put on hold.
It comes after host Ant Middleton claimed fan favourite Merrick Watts would be making a return to the show as a DS team member – which Merrick subsequently refuted.
‘No crew has been booked. No location has been sourced. There is no SAS Australia, but the network will hold onto the rights, so maybe it will be back in 2026,’ the source said.

It was also claimed Ant had been having ‘very real’ conversations about the show’s format, hoping to bring in Home and Away star Kate Ritchie as a participant.
‘There were very real conversations about SAS and Ant was pitching ideas on how to make changes to the format,’ the source said.
‘However, those ideas never should have made it out of the boardroom. In fact, neither Richie or Watts management were even called in for a meeting.
‘Both were asked about their involvement and bizarrely had no idea what Middleton was talking about.’
