Nigel Farage bravely opened up about the horrifying plane crash he was involved in back in 2010 during Tuesday’s I’m A Celebrity.
As part of a campaign stunt for UKIP, Farage boarded the two-seater aircraft while a banner with the words “Vote UKIP” etched on was tied behind it.
Farage managed to escape the crash alive and was rushed to hospital where he made a full recovery.
Explaining all to his campmates on I’m A Celeb, Josie Gibson kicked off the conversation as she asked Farage: “What were you doing at the time when you were flying a plane, where were you going?”
“Being an idiot, flying a banner,” Farage replied before Fred Siriex – who’d been embroiled in a fiery clash with Farage the day before – chimed in to ask what was on the banner.
“A Brexit message, obviously,” Farage answered before Siriex continued to probe: “What was the message?”

Farage took a moment to think before he replied: “Vote for independence or something like that.”
Recalling the incident in his mind, Farage explained: “I don’t recall being unconscious, but I do recall the explosion, the plane flipping over, being stuck in there, everything broken… every rib front and back, split sternum, punctured lung… it was bad.”
Hollyoaks star Nick Picard weighed in to ask how long Farage was hospitalised which prompted the GB News star to admit: “Not as long as I should have been, I discharged myself, I got bored.”
Grace Dent laughed before she chimed in: “Oh yeah, I can tell you’re one of them.”
“When bad things happen to you in life you’ve got to make a decision,” Farage continued. “Have I been unlucky, have I been lucky?”
Dent went on to ask: “Do you think that flavours how you live your life? That devil may care attitude?”
Nigel confirmed it did before he delved further: “That was one of the things. I’ve had a few things happen which I think does actually help with thinking, ‘Sod it I’m going to do what I believe.’”
Dent’s line of questioning went on: “When you stand up in a room and make a speech that’s incredibly unpopular, do you think that flavour of it is you only live once?”

“Definitely,” Farage emphatically responded before Dent asked: “You don’t mind being unpopular?”
Farage then cryptically replied: “It depends who you’re unpopular with.”
Elsewhere in Tuesday’s show, Nella Rose was tasked with tackling the No Time to Cry Bushtucker Trial under the watchful eye of Ant and Dec.
She also found herself in a tense clash with Siriex after she took issue with a comment he made about being old enough to be her dad the night before.
