Sir Elton John has opened up about about how his new project is “keeping him alive” as the 77-year-old continues to battle health concerns.
The music legend was speaking ahead of his new album Who Believes In Angels? releasing in early April with collaborator Brandi Carlile.
In his reflection, John explored his complex relationship with music and how he “can’t live” without it.
“It nearly killed me, but it also kept me alive, and it keeps me alive today,” he revealed to Rolling Stone.

“This is the latter time of my life. I don’t know how much time I have left,” the 77-year-old revealed last year.
He continued: “You think about that more when you get to my age. You think about life and… and death. You think, ‘Well, I just want to be where I want to be now.'”
Initially, John feared his failing sight might prevent him from completing his new album.
Despite the challenges concerns, Who Believes in Angels? is set for release on April 4.
The album features John working Carlile and his longtime writing partner, Bernie Taupin.
“I love her so much and not just as a person, but I love what’s inside of her musically and creatively,” the 77-year-old said about Carlie.
Predicting big things for his collaborator, John glowed: “She’s like an embryo at the moment, and she’s done a hell of a lot to be an embryo, but she’s going to just burst.”
