Elon Musk has accused Labour of “importing voters” in a social media rant after asylum seekers were “given new £300k homes”.
The decision to house those waiting for their claims to be processed in £300,000 three-bedroom contemporary townhouses in a village in Suffolk has sparked outrage with both residents and the South African-born billionaire.
The homes are “nestled in the tranquil and sought-after village” and “designed for modern living and comfort, providing ample space and eco-friendly amenities”, according to promotional materials.
The properties are said to offer “a serene living experience” and represent “a perfect blend of modern design, comfort, and sustainability”.
While rent in the area is estimated to be around £1,200 for a similar-sized property, Asylum seekers’ rents are funded by the taxpayer.
The sales brochure adds: “With their eco-friendly features and thoughtful amenities, these properties are an ideal choice for those looking to embrace a green lifestyle in a peaceful, community-oriented location.”
Elon Musk took to X, his social media platform, in five posts criticising the policy.
The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX wrote: “This must stop now.”

Just 14 minutes later, Mr Musk added: “The goal is obviously long-term settlement to import voters.
“If mass importation of voters is allowed to continue, it will succeed and the vote of the Britain-born will not matter.”
Another 14 minutes later, he said: “Time to wake up to the horrific reality.”
Mr Musk later added: “And it will work, unless the people of Britain put a stop to it.”

Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s Labour Government has been criticised by Mr Musk before, who once proudly claimed to be British due to having an English grandmother.
The billionaire, who resides in the US, accused Sir Keir of being “complicit in the rape of Britain” after GB News shed light on the grooming gang scandal.
Mr Musk backed demands for a public inquiry into child sexual abuse in the UK.

Susan, 64, said: “We’re paying for all of this. Why are we working hard for asylum seekers to just get everything for free?”
Mum-of-two Laura Garland said: “There are people born in this country that pay taxes who can’t get housing.
“Then you get these families who are put straight into brand new three-bedroom houses. The worst thing is — none of us knew. We’ve been kept in the dark.”
Clive Bloomfield, aged 62, added: “It’s all just happened without us knowing about it. Our opinions don’t seem to count. There’s people working hard to try to get on the property ladder and they’re not considered.”
A Serco spokeswoman told GB News: “Once the Home Office made the decision that asylum seekers should be accommodated in Suffolk, Serco had discussions with the local authority (LA) about which postcodes would be suitable in their area.
“Once a postcode was agreed by the LA, Serco then sought the appropriate accommodation required.”
GB News has approached the Home Office for comment.
