The Duchess of Edinburgh attended a Christmas event at Disability Initiative in Camberley, Surrey, today, where she wore a festive Santa Claus hat.

Photographs from the visit showed Sophie decorating Christmas cookies in front of a placard that read: “HRH Magnificent Patron”.

Elsewhere, the duchess played percussion instruments alongside volunteers and clients being helped by the charity as part of a heartwarming Christmas event.

It is understood that the activities were tailored to the specific needs of adults with disabilities, aimed at enhancing overall well-being and quality of life.

Sophie, 60, wore a £295 floral dress from Lexy London for the occasion, which she debuted earlier this month at Princess Kate’s Christmas carol service.

To accessorise, the mother-of-two sported £162 earrings from Giulia Barela, which she wore earlier this year in Nepal, as well as a Chanel watch.

Finally, Sophie donned £359 suede boots from Penelope Chilvers, which are currently on sale for £251.

The charity website states: “Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Edinburgh has been Patron of Disability Initiative since 2003.

“A regular visitor, her support and encouragement have made a remarkable impact on everyone involved.

“She takes a genuine interest in each person and all aspects of our work.”

Sophie has kept a close relationship with the charity over the decades.

For example, when the royal was promoted from Countess of Wessex to Duchess of Edinburgh in 2023, Disability Initiative put out a sweet, congratulatory statement.
