Donald Trump has advised Sir Keir Starmer to cut taxes and slash illegal immigration to defeat his “friend” Nigel Farage at the next General Election.
Trump, who admitted he likes both the Prime Minister and Reform UK leader, delivered his two-part verdict on what will matter in the minds’ of voters in 2019 during a sit-down chat with Starmer at his Turnberry golf course.
Speaking to reporters, Trump said: “I don’t know the politics of it, I don’t know where they stand.
“I would say one’s slightly liberal, not that liberal, slightly, and the other one’s slightly conservative, but they’re both good men.”
He added: “Politics is pretty simple, I assume there’s a thing going on between you and Nigel and it’s okay, it’s two parties.
“But generally speaking the one who cuts taxes the most, the one who gives you the lowest energy prices and the best kinds of energy, the one who keeps you out of wars…
“You have a few basics and you can go back a thousand years, a million years, whoever does these things.
“Low taxes, keep us safe, keep us out of wars, no crime, stop the crime, and in your case a big immigration component, because I know that your attitude has become strong on immigration, strong on the toughness on immigration.”

The US President concluded: “I think the one that’s toughest and most competent on immigration’s going to win the election.
“But then you add low taxes and you add the economy, he did a great thing with the economy, a lot of money’s going to come in because of the deal that was made. But I think that immigration is now bigger than ever before.”
The US President’s comments come after GB News revealed that Starmer is hoping to use a three-pronged attack on the NHS, Ukraine and workers’ rights to stifle Reform’s rise.
The People’s Channel also uncovered how the Prime Minister is looking to promote Farage to de facto Leader of the Opposition to win over left-leaning voters who have left Labour to support the Liberal Democrats and the Greens.
However, a Labour MP recently echoed Trump’s concerns about cutting down on both legal and illegal immigration.
“We are sleepwalking into a defeat bigger than 2019, with Labour non-existent outside the big cities,” the Red Wall Labour MP told GB News.
“We could beat Reform by actually delivering on our tough talk on immigration. But we won’t, so we won’t.”
Despite Trump forming a close relationship with Farage following the 2016 Brexit referendum, the Reform UK leader is not expected to meet the US President during his trip to Scotland.
However, GB News understands that Farage could meet US Vice President JD Vance in Cornwall.
Farage addressed his relationship with Trump ahead of the US President’s Turnberry remarks.
The Clacton MP revealed that “diplomatic reasons” prevented him from meeting Trump during the President’s four-day visit to Scotland.
He said: “I’m in a slightly awkward position now, or he’s in a slightly awkward position with me.

“I can’t just bowl up on a friendly trip for diplomatic reasons, whilst he’s there with the Prime Minister negotiating steel tariffs and much else, it just doesn’t work.”
However, lifting the lid on his friendship with the Trump family, Farage revealed that he recently went to dinner with Donald Trump Jr.
He added: “I’m on good terms with the administration.
“My relationship with Trump has always been one of friendship, but right at the moment, diplomatically, it doesn’t really work.”
